Established in 1991, the school has been delivering high quality teacher training courses since 1996. The School
Inside Manchester Academy you will find well-equipped, bright classrooms with the latest teaching equipment. We have a wide variety of facilities to offer our students, including a library, language laboratory, computer centre and student lounge. We are located 3 minutes walk from the nearest train station and we are conveniently placed for bus transport. Being in the city centre, we are close to everything.

For Teachers - Refresher Courses for Overseas Teachers of English

The school has been offering high quality teacher training courses since 1996. Currently, we offer the Cambridge CELTA, demonstrating that we are capable of delivering international teacher training projects. Our experience in the management of these training schemes ensures we receive a high level of satisfaction from our clients.

Our 2-week course is for teachers who want to develop their teaching methods and refresh their language skills. The course provides 25 hours of tuition per week combining General English, British Studies and Methodology. Topics covered on the course may include: the four skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening, with expansion of lexis and grammar, British culture and education, lesson planning, classroom management, teaching pronunciation, error correction and teaching vocabulary.

There will be a maximum of twelve students per class. Students must have a minimum level of upper intermediate for this course.

Leisure & Activities
The excursion programme will provide you with the opportunity to visit places of interest with typical excursions including: Liverpool, Chester, the Lake District, Urbis – Museum of City Life and Manchester Museum of Science and Industry.

Facilities include student lounge, self-study area, language laboratory, library, computer centre, and free Internet and e-mail access.

Accommodation
Manchester Academy of English offer their own self-catering house to students who wish to be close to the city centre and enjoy the benefits of living with other students.

We can also provide Homestay accommodation on a half board basis which is an ideal way to sample English culture.
